American Motocross’ Most Famous Sandbox Set for 44th Running at The Wick
MORGANTOWN, WV – June 27, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – MX Sports Pro Racing, Inc., in conjunction with The Wick 338, has announced the continued support from multi-generational homegrown developer Crestview Inc. as title partner of the 44th running the Crestview Construction Southwick National, which will take place this Saturday, June 28, from the hallowed sands of Western Massachusetts’ iconic venue. The most famous sandbox in American motocross has hosted this summer tradition for New England race fans since 1976 and will be the site for Race 5 of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, and Round 22 of the SMX World Championship regular season.
“As proud members and contributors to the incredible community of Southwick, The Wick 338 is grateful to continue its incredible partnership with another cornerstone of the community in Crestview Inc. Together, we’ve had the privilege of enhancing the legacy of this event and strengthening its ties to the city,” said Rick Johnson, General Manager of The Wick 338. “The LeDuc and Dziengelewski families have been tremendous supporters since they stepped up to put their name on the Southwick National, which has facilitated hugely successful turnouts the past two years. Their partnership has been invaluable to the overall success of the event, and we’re excited to embark on another year together.”
Largely unassuming, The Wick 338 sits in the heart of town, nestled amidst the trees behind Southwick Regional School and Woodland Elementary School. It is the backdrop for the American Legion Post 338, for which the track is named, and features a seemingly endless serpentine layout that provides one of the most intimate and spirited atmospheres in the sport. The Southwick National is often considered one of the toughest tests in the championship, as the ever-changing racing surface consistently pushes the limits of riders and motorcycles alike. Because of this unique challenge and a deeply rooted history in the sport, it is one of American motocross’ crown jewel events.
Crestview Inc. was established in 1983 by neighbors-turned-friends Bernie LeDuc and John Dziengelewski, after the duo purchased a pair of dump trucks to serve as subcontractors for various companies across Massachusetts and Connecticut. Dziengelewski’s family-owned Crestview Dairy Farm in Southwick served as the original home base and ultimately fostered the business’ name. Eventually, Crestview Construction and Trucking grew thanks to the addition of heavy equipment and an expansion into residential jobs. That expansion continued into commercial building and infrastructure, which has allowed Crestview to become one of Southwick’s most prominent and highly regarded small businesses. Entering its 42nd year of operation, Crestview Inc. is also a multi-generational company as LeDuc’s son, Brian, and Dziengelewski’s son, Aaron, now play significant roles within the company as it extends into its second generation.
“‘Big John’ [Dziengelewski], the entire Crestview family, and I are excited to continue our partnership with the Southwick Pro Motocross National,” said Crestview Inc.’s Brian LeDuc. “The Wick 338 team, which itself is led by four generations of the Johnson family, and our Crestview team have always shared common goals and values when it comes to this event, and that is to provide the best experience possible for racers and fans and shine a deserving spotlight on the community of Southwick.”

With a month of racing complete, the Pro Motocross field comes into Southwick fresh off the first off weekend of the season. A much-needed refresh should have racers in top form as they tackle the infamous sand of The Wick 338, but all eyes will be on the championship leaders of Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan, who have both gotten off to tremendous starts this summer. For Lawrence, his four-race winning streak to open the season has established a 28-point lead in the 450 Class standings over Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Eli Tomac, who has wrestled away a pair of moto wins this season from his Australian rival. Lawrence comes to The Wick as the defending race winner, while Tomac, who has a trio of Southwick victories on his résumé, will make his anticipated return for the first time since 2022, when he went 1-1 for the win.
In the 250 Class, Deegan has yet to face a consistent threat from any of his challengers. While the likes of Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jo Shimoda and Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen have been consistent podium runners, they have not been able to finish ahead of Deegan in a single moto thus far, which has allowed the defending champion to open up a 42-point lead in the standings. Moreover, Deegan is the defending Southwick winner and will be motivated to continue the dominant start of his title defense.
The Crestview Construction Southwick National will get underway this Saturday, June 28, with practice and qualifying starting at 5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET, followed by opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET. Broadcast coverage will kick off with a live network showcase of the opening 450 Class moto on NBC, beginning at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. Wall-to-wall live streaming coverage can be seen on Peacock, beginning at 7 a.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET with Race Day Live, followed by uninterrupted coverage of the motos at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
