A Challenging Start & Resilient Comeback

Price, a seasoned competitor and one of the few women driving this year’s Dakar Rally, entered the 2025 event with one clear goal: to win the Dakar and prove her place among the elite in cross-country rallying. However, during Stage 2, disaster struck when a mechanical failure brought the 48H – Chrono stage to a halt. She and her co-driver, Sean Berriman, the 2020 SSV Champion, spent a long, cold night stranded in the vast Saudi Arabian desert. Despite their best efforts, it marked a heartbreaking end to their bid for the Dakar SSV title. However, Price’s determination remained unshaken as she prepared to bounce back and focus on stage wins and seat time in the prestigious rally. Sara Price, owner of SP Motorsports, began racing dirt bikes at age eight, winning 19 amateur titles and medaling at the 2010 X-Games. As the most decorated female amateur in motocross, she became the first factory-supported female racer with Monster Energy Kawasaki.
