ALBION, NY – January 23, 2021 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) –  Waters Auto Body Racing announced today that they will be returning to Progressive AFT in the AFT Singles class this season with two new riders on board their machines and support from KTM. Waters have enlisted 16-year-old rider Aidan Rooseveans of O’Fallon, Illinois and have aligned with new Canadian team, NKR Canada, who will be bringing out Hunter Bauer from Niagara Falls, Ontario. Both riders will be piloting the high performance KTM 450 SX-F Factory Editions this season.

“I admire the passion and commitment the Waters Auto Body KTM Team brings to the sport of flat track and the KTM brand,” said Chris Fillmore, KTM Flat Track Manager. “Now with Aidan and Hunter, two young and talented new riders, combined with the teams experience, we will for sure be looking forward to a successful 2021 season.”

Dave and Rhonda Waters are beyond excited to fly the KTM banner. They have been proponents of KTM since the inception of their team in 2009. Through the years they have garnered three National wins and fifteen podium finishes. The formation of the team with their Canadian neighbors is a continuation of their common goal of bringing American Flat Track racing to the forefront, and helping showcase the talented young racers and KTM motorcycles in the United States and across our Northern border.

As a new race team founded this year by team owner, Niki Kendall, NKR Canada’s goal is to reinstate Canadian presence in American Flat Track. “By providing riders with proper partnership support, skilled management and competitive machines, it is our intention to give our riders the best chance at getting Canada back in the race to win,” said Kendall. “We look forward to making our debut with the Waters and flying the KTM flag alongside our Canadian one at as many races as we can this season. We are ready to show up and turn out in 2021 and start to lay the long term foundation for our team in Progressive AFT”.

“When Dave and I were first approached by NKR Canada, we quickly formed a synergy and realized we had many of the same goals. Each team brings its own attributes for a successful run at the 2021 Progressive AFT season. It felt like a great fit after meeting with team owner, Niki Kendall in Charlotte, and hearing her attainable reasons for wanting to join us as a new Can-Am team,” states Team Owner, Rhonda Waters.

Dave and Rhonda met with Aidan and Joseph Roosevans in early winter. Aidan had a successful past in flat track winning seventeen championships in amateur racing before switching over to Sprint car racing for four years. However, his return to motorcycle flat track was only a matter of time. He returned to follow the family’s history of racing in the sport.

“I’m definitely excited to get a fresh beginning,” said Roosevans. “My rookie season was very rough with all the struggles we had. Going under the Waters Auto Body KTM tent and racing with their knowledge of flat track and KTM I think will put me in a lot better place. I can’t wait to see the new bikes and start winning on them. Thank you to the team for putting faith in me to race. See you all in 2021!”

Riding for NKR Canada, Hunter Bauer has been racing since he was old enough to swing his leg over a bike. He has made short work of progressing through the ranks in the Canadian national flat track scene and has shown exceptional skill throughout. With his natural talent and laser-focus on progression, he was a natural choice for NKR as they roll out this season.

“I can’t wait to get on the track this season with NKR Canada and Waters Auto Body KTM behind me,” said Bauer. “I am honored to be chosen as first rider out with NKR and am really looking forward to taking this next step in my racing career. With the support I’ll have from the team and the bikes we’ll be out on, I couldn’t be happier with the set up I have going into my rookie Progressive AFT year.”

The two teams are looking forward to working together and staking some claim in the hyper-competitive AFT Singles class this season.
