Dunlop Riders Sweep 2026 Pro Motocross Championships, Extend Championship Streak to 17 Consecutive Years

Hunter Lawrence Claims 450 Championship, Cole Davies Earns 250 Crown and Team Dunlop Elite Alum Lachlan Turner Captures WMX Title

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – September 1, 2026 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The 2026 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, came to a dramatic conclusion at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, with Dunlop riders completing another championship sweep. Hunter Lawrence captured the 450 Pro Motocross Championship, Cole Davies secured the 250 Pro Motocross Championship, and Team Dunlop Elite alum Lachlan Turner earned the 2026 Women’s Motocross Championship.

The results extend one of the most dominant runs in American motorcycle racing, marking the 17th consecutive year Dunlop riders have captured the premier AMA Pro Motocross championships. With Lawrence and Davies adding their titles to Dunlop’s record, Dunlop-supported racers have now earned 193 combined AMA Pro Supercross and Motocross Championships and counting.

Dunlop’s strength extended well beyond the championship leaders. At the conclusion of the 11-round Pro Motocross season, each of the top 12 riders in the final 450 Class championship standings competed on Dunlop tires, while all of the top 20 riders in the final 250 Class standings raced on Dunlop. The depth of those results demonstrates the performance and consistency required from Dunlop tires across different motorcycles, teams, riding styles and track conditions throughout the summer.

The 450 championship came down to one of the closest title fights in recent Pro Motocross history. Honda HRC Progressive’s Hunter Lawrence entered the Ironman finale with just a one-point advantage over his brother and teammate Jett Lawrence. After 22 motos of racing, Hunter emerged with his first career 450 Pro Motocross Championship, securing the Edison Dye Cup by just two points.

Lawrence’s championship capped a season in which the Australian established himself as a consistent threat at the front of the field and successfully navigated a title fight that saw the championship lead change hands multiple times throughout the summer.

In the 250 Class, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cole Davies completed a breakout sophomore professional season by securing the Gary Jones Cup. Davies entered Ironman with a 14-point championship advantage and clinched the title in the opening moto of the finale. The championship made the 19-year-old the first New Zealand-born rider in 55 years to capture the 250 Pro Motocross crown.

Davies’ outdoor championship also follows his 2026 250SX East title, giving him both a Supercross and Pro Motocross championship in the same season and further establishing him among the sport’s brightest young talents.

The championship weekend also provided another milestone for Dunlop’s rider development program. Lachlan “Lala” Turner, a Team Dunlop Elite alum, captured the 2026 WMX Championship following a six-round season that concluded alongside Pro Motocross at Ironman Raceway.

Turner’s progression from the amateur ranks to a national professional championship reflects the long-term mission behind Team Dunlop Elite, which was created to identify and support some of the country’s most promising young racers before they reach the professional level.

The Pro Motocross championships add to an already historic 2026 racing season for Dunlop. Earlier this year, Dunlop riders swept all three Monster Energy AMA Supercross championships, further extending the company’s championship legacy at the highest level of American motocross and Supercross competition.

With the Supercross and Pro Motocross regular seasons now complete, Dunlop riders will turn their attention to the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs, where the top racers from both disciplines will compete for the season’s final championships.
