SUNNYVALE, CA – October 29, 2026 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Ducati introduces the new Monster Dark, a model crafted for those drawn to the darker side of this legendary naked bike from Borgo Panigale.

The Dark embodies the elements that have made the Monster a legend, making it accessible to an even wider audience. It is a true icon, defined by its signature design cues: a headlight framed by the “shoulders” of its bison-back-inspired fuel tank, a single-piece seat for both rider and passenger, and a short, lightweight tail section. Like every Monster, it is sporty yet approachable: fun to ride, nimble, and easy to handle—offering a rewarding experience for seasoned riders and newcomers to the Ducati world alike.

The timeless appeal of the Dark livery—which originated with the first generation of the Monster—enhances this Borgo Panigale naked bike’s design, giving it a more essential, authentic presence. The seat, crafted from a single fabric, and the all-black wheelsare complemented by exposed structural elements, such as the Front Frame, the exhaust end caps, and the air intake snorkel.

Monster enthusiasts can personalize their bikes with features such as the Ducati Quick Shift, Cruise Control, a passenger seat cover, and a windshield, choosing only the accessories they want to tailor their Monster Dark to their personal taste. View these high-quality accessories in the Configurator section of the Ducati.com website, alongside a wide range of helmets, jackets, and pants—everything every Monster rider needs to ride safely and in style.

A Timeless Icon

With its torque-rich V-twin engine, perfect for road riding, the Monster offers an incredibly easy, accessible riding experience without ever compromising on fun or performance. The Monster retains the DNA of the original 1993 generation: a punchy, high-performance V-twin engine paired with a Superbike-derived frame — which, in this latest generation, takes the form of an aluminum monocoque. “Everything you need, nothing more” – a formula that instantly captured the hearts of countless motorcyclists. Since then, the Monster has fostered a global community of enthusiasts —” Monsteristi “— who continue to uphold its spirit and celebrate its history to this day.

Lightness has always been one of the Monster’s greatest strengths. Every component has been engineered for minimal weight – from the monocoque frame to the rear subframe, which combines a techno-polymer structure with a steel trellis – resulting in a total weight reduction of 9 lb compared to the already ultra-light previous generation. The result is a bike weighing just 386 lb; nimble and compact, it maneuvers effortlessly through traffic while ensuring complete control in any situation.

The Monster’s ease of handling is supported by a comfortable riding position designed to keep the rider at ease. With a seat height of just 32.1 in and a narrow profile, it is easy to plant your feet firmly on the ground, while the placement of the footpegs and handlebars enhances control during spirited riding and keeps you comfortable for relaxed use.

The Monster features a latest-generation electronics suite.Standard equipment includes Cornering ABS, Traction Control, Wheelie Control and Engine Brake Control – all adjustable across various levels of intervention. Essential riding information is clearly displayed on a 5” color TFT screen, which is pre-configured for the Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation.

Intuitive and fun, the Monster can shift its character at the touch of a button, thanks to four Riding Modes specifically tailored to simplify and enhance the riding experience in any situation. Less experienced riders, or those using the Monster for city commuting, will find it quick and easy to get comfortable with this Ducati naked bike, thanks to the Urban Riding Mode. More sport-oriented riders will appreciate the engine’s punchy performance in Sport mode, designed specifically for dynamic riding. They can also rely on the safety provided by the electronic management systems, including Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Cornering ABS. Finally, the optional Ducati Power Launch system offers enthusiasts the thrill of a MotoGP-style launch.

IMLegend

To celebrate the Monster legend and the launch of the new Monster Dark, available at dealerships from November 2026, the IMLegend campaign brings together iconic Ducati riders from past and present and Monsteristi from around the world in an exclusive photographic project. Over more than thirty years, the project tells the story of how Monster has become much more than a motorcycle: a symbol of individuality, belonging, and freedom of expression. Through the faces and stories of those who have ridden it, embraced it, and made it part of who they are, IMLegend celebrates the global community that has turned Monster into a legend in its own right within the Ducati universe.
