Introducing the new Saddlemen LS Model Road Sofa Now Available

17 06 2016

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA – June 17, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Saddlemen’s new Road Sofa LS for 1997 through current Harley Davidson® touring bikes was created for a single purpose: create a luxurious saddle for comfortable, long distance touring without compromising styling. Like all Saddlemen seats, the LS Road Sofa was engineered with industry leading Gel-Core™ construction for unsurpassed comfort. Gel-Core is engineered to dampen, divert, and deflect energy to create a smooth, therapeutic ride. At the heart of this technology is specially formulated viscoelastic polymer known as SaddleGel™, which when combined with the latest in co-molding technology reduces engine vibration by up to 50%, and direct impact forces by up to 92 %. Why does Saddlemen use this innovative material? Simple – to add hours and hours of comfortable riding time to every ride!

But SaddleGel® is not the only key to comfort. Painstakingly crafted seating contours cradle the rider for proper alignment with pegs, bars, controls and reduce strain and fatigue. Perforated leather seating panels are breathable for continuous ventilation and compliant enhancement of the SaddleGel™ and Comfort Foam™ properties used below the cover. These saddles fit and feel right.

A quick look at the LS Road Sofa reveals that styling and good looks were not compromised for comfort. The LS enhances and complements other accessories and upgrades, providing the finishing touch for any Harley® touring bike.

All Saddlemen seats are designed, tested, and built exclusively in the USA for the long ride. American made quality and craftsmanship is something we take very seriously since 1987 at the Saddlemen Long Beach, California manufacturing facility. Every detail, every stitch, and every step of the process from raw materials to the final product has been carefully considered and inspected to insure that Saddlemen’s standards for quality, craftsmanship and comfort are continuously upheld.

Saddlemen remains America’s first choice when upgrading a motorcycle seat; Saddlemen recognizes that every different body, and every bike, is built a little different and that sometimes even the best motorcycle seat may not meet everyone’s comfort expectations. Unlike other seat companies, Saddlemen will help make it right. If for some reason a customer is not completely satisfied with their new Road Sofa just call 800-397-7709 and a friendly Product Specialist will gladly assist.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – February 27, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – AMA Pro Racing announced that the Saddlemen “Rookie of the Year Award” will be making a return for the seventh consecutive year, as part of the renewed partnership with Saddlemen for the 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track season.

“We are very pleased to have Saddlemen on board for another year of partnership,” said Michael Lock, CEO of AMA Pro Racing. “Saddlemen’s dedication to the AMA Pro Flat Track community goes back decades, and their contribution gives the up-and-coming riders in the sport an important opportunity to showcase their skills. We’re very excited to have Saddlemen back for a seventh year.”

160227 AMA Pro Flat Track Saddlemen "Rookie of the Year Award"

Each year since the partnership was formed in 2010, rookies in Harley-Davidson GNC1 presented by Vance & Hines have showcased their talents and accumulated points throughout the season in hopes of winning the coveted award.

At the end of the year, the rookie rider who has earned the most points in the championship will be recognized at the AMA Pro Flat Track awards banquet as the Saddlemen “Rookie of the Year.” Previous recipients include AMA Pro Flat Track standouts PJ Jacobsen, Brad Baker, Briar Bauman, Jake Shoemaker, Wyatt Maguire and the most recent awardee, Jarod Vanderkooi.

Not only will the rider’s name go down in the history books, they’ll also take home, in the words of Saddlemen CEO David Echert, “a big fat check for $5,000.”

“We believe that this award allows us to help current and future riders stay motivated to further their careers,” said Echert. “Not only will the winning racer receive a check, but he or she will also be sponsored with product gifts, and it will give us the opportunity to mentor the riders with our years of experience in the sport. Racing is deeply ingrained in our heritage, which is why we are so excited to continue our relationship with AMA Pro Racing, a sport that attracts some of the most talented athletes in the world.”

Saddlemen, the leading manufacturer of motorcycle seats and luggage, has been a supporter of Flat Track racing since its doors opened in 1987, and has held onto the belief that in order for the sport to move forward, it must continue to produce the most outstanding products for racers.

“The seat is the largest real estate that the body interacts with during a race,” Echert continued. “And it’s important that we allow new riders to experience that edge from our product because we believe that bringing new talent into the sport is the most important thing for keeping it alive.”

Saddlemen’s Brad Baker Takes GNC Combined Title at Pomona

15 10 2013

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA – October 15, 2014 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – After a long season of hard work, tweaking and tuning, and traveling thousands of miles across the country, racers of the 2013 AMA Pro Flat Track season found themselves at the Fairplex in Pomona for the final race of the year. The final races in both the GNC and Pro Singles classes would pit several riders with championship hopes against one another, making for one of the most exciting nights of Flat Track racing in recent memory.

AMA Pro Grand National Championship
Saddlemen rider Brad Baker entered the final round with an 11-point lead in the GNC Combined standings, and stretched that lead further after earning best qualifier honors and winning the 4-lap Dash for Cash race. With even more of a cushion heading into the main event, Baker put on a dominant performance and proved that he’s very comfortable at the Pomona half-mile.

After trading the lead back and forth for several laps, a red flag resulted in a staggered restart and a 10-lap fight to the finish. Baker laid down fast lap after fast lap and took the checkers by nearly a second. Even though he didn’t need to win at Pomona to take the GNC Combined title, Brad Baker finished his incredible 2013 season in dominant fashion. Brad added the 2013 Grand National Championship to his 2013 GNC Expert Singles title and will put don the #1 next year as he looks to defend his title.

The young Briar Bauman put on a terrific performance of his own at Pomona. Bauman finished 3rd and found himself on the GNC podium for the first time in his short career. Bauman finished a solid season in style as he only missed one main event and finished 11th in the standings.

Defending champ Jared Mees finished in fourth place at Pomona, and also finished in fourth in both the Expert Twins and GNC Combined standings. JD Beach rounded out the top-5 at the final race and despite only racing a partial season finished in the top-10 in both Twins and Combined.

Kenny Coolbeth Jr. put together an impressive season that saw ten top-10 finishes. He took the fifth spot in the Expert Twins and sixth in the Combined final standings. Fellow Saddlemen rider Henry Wiles was one of the highlights of the season with a record-setting performance at Peoria, and the two-time Singles champ finished sixth in Twins and fifth in Combined.

AMA Pro J&P Pro Singles
The Pro Singles class was another source of exciting racing Saturday as Saddlemen rider Ryan Wells entered the final round within reach of the 2013 Championship. Just five points behind the leader, Wells needed to do well at Pomona and also get a little help. Wells did his part by finishing in second place but didn’t quite get the help he needed, missing out on the title by a single point. Wells’ amazing season saw a perfect record of top-10 finishes, including three podium appearances.

Rookie rider Bronson Bauman finished fifth at Pomona, and though he missed the first two races due to not being eligible to race at age 15, Bauman made the most of his partial season and finished eighth in class.

Defending Pro Singles champion Stephen Vanderkuur got off to a bumpy start this season but finished strong with three podium finishes. A ninth place finish at Pomona was enough to keep him in third in the standings at season’s end.

Fan favorite Shayna Texter also had her share of early-season trouble but bounced back with a pair of mid-season wins. Her four podium finishes and a seventh place on the Pomona Half-Mile gave her a career-best fourth place Pro Singles finish.

AMA Pro GNC Expert Twins
The excitement in the Expert Twins class has been thrilling this season, with five different riders claiming victories in just seven races. Saddlemen rider Brad Baker got off to a hot start, taking the Expert Singles title earlier this year and leading the Expert Twins until a bike breakdown at Colonial Downs. Rising up in his place is fellow Saddlemen rider Brandon Robinson, who put in two impressive performances this weekend to sweep the doubleheader.

Robinson had a few rocky turnouts in the middle of the season but has rebounded with refreshed confidence in recent races. His back-to-back wins at Springfield pushed Robinson from third to second in the standings, just 5 points back from the leader with just two rounds remaining.

Saddlemen supported rider JD Beach has been enjoying the long AMA Pro Road Racing breaks by putting in some impressive Flat Track rides of his own. Beach’s pair of third place finishes moved him into seventh in the Expert Twins standings despite only having raced five of the seven events.

Baker dropped to third in the Expert Twins standings but holds onto a ten point lead in the Combined standings.

Jared Mees missed the top-5 both days, but nevertheless enjoyed a momentous occasion as he married fellow AMA Pro Flat Track racer Nichole Cheza Sunday before the races.
