IWATA, JAPAN – January 6, 2026 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) announced today that it will construct new buildings on the grounds of its headquarters in Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, with construction scheduled to commence in 2026. The two new facilities will be the Corporate Building (tentative name) and the Quality Assurance Center, with both scheduled for completion in 2028.

Since relocating its headquarters to Iwata nearly 55 years ago, Yamaha Motor has made the city the heart of its manufacturing operations and continued its journey as a Kando* Creating Company under its corporate mission of offering new excitement and a more fulfilling life for people all over the world. However, the current buildings are presenting challenges that include aging facilities, insufficient space, and the dispersion of functions.

To address these issues, the Company has decided to construct new headquarters buildings that will consolidate functional departments on headquarters grounds, bringing greater operational efficiency and enhancing organizational capabilities. In addition, the office environment has been designed to facilitate the flexible working styles that have become the norm in the post-COVID era-combining working from home and coming to the office-while promoting communication that transcends traditional team and departmental boundaries.

■ Corporate Building (tentative name)
The planned Corporate Building will be the central hub for corporate operations at the Iwata headquarters and will comprise eight above-ground floors with a total floor area of 27,524m². The office’s concept is Waku Work! (excitement and engagement). Under the themes of Flow (encouraging the movement of people), Open (fostering communication across departments), and Wellness (creating a workplace where employees can work in good physical and mental health), the building will create an environment in which the employees that deliver Kando to people around the world can cultivate a Waku Work! spirit. From a disaster-prevention perspective, the building will adopt a base-isolation structure to strengthen business continuity. In addition, the design aims to maximize energy efficiency, achieving both reduced operating costs and a lower environmental impact.

■ Quality Assurance Center
The planned Quality Assurance Center will be the central hub for quality assurance operations at the Iwata headquarters and will comprise six above-ground floors with a total floor area of 11,444m². Quality assurance-related functional departments and facilities that are currently dispersed across seven buildings will be consolidated and upgraded. As the central base for quality assurance duties for all businesses, the Center will further strengthen efforts aimed at ensuring full regulatory compliance, as well as the delivery of high-quality products and services. In addition, through the consolidation of QA-related offices, the Center will not only improve operational efficiency and coordination but also promote more active sharing of quality-related information and expertise, thereby further strengthening the development and awareness-raising of QA personnel.
*Kando is a Japanese word for the simultaneous feelings of deep satisfaction and intense excitement that we experience when we encounter something of exceptional value.
