IRVINE, CA – June 5, 2024 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Members of the Motorcycle Industry Council now have access to powerful new dashboards on www.mic.org. Four dashboards enable visualization of the S&P Global Mobility annual dataset and include:

- Powersports Vehicles-In-Operation Monthly New and Used Registrations
A fifth dashboard – Quarterly Sales of Motorcycles and ATVs by General Type — uses data derived from the MIC Retail Sales Reporting System.
“The data that MIC provides members is powerful for business planning purposes and with the added feature of these interactive dashboards, members can now manipulate and visualize the data to better identify trends and opportunities,” said Buckner Nesheim, Director of Research and Statistics at the Motorcycle Industry Council. “Additionally, an historical data file is available, along with the usual quarterly sales reports, enabling members to perform their own analyses on both quarterly brand data and monthly segment data, each broken down by cc size ranges.”

Powersports Vehicles-in-Operation Overview: Registered motorcycles, ATVs, and ROVs categorized by type.
- Powersports manufacturers (U.S.) market share.
- Model performance by manufacturer or category.
- Data available for registration years 2016 -2023.
Powersports Vehicles-In-Operation Segment Analysis: A similar, but more in-depth report of Powersports Vehicles-in-Operation.
- Registration for individual makes, models, and segments.
- Sort data by model year, segment, and category.
- Data available for models years 1968 to 2025.
Powersports Vehicles-In-Operation Model Registration Trends: Registrations organized by category, make, model, and/or cc size.
- Data from 2017 to present.
- NOTE: This is a count of vehicles registered and will include some of the same vehicles multiple times as vehicles are re-registered year after year.
Powersports Vehicles-In-Operation Monthly New and Used Registrations: Ratio of used to new registrations.
- Includes scooters, on-highway, dual, and off-highway motorcycles, ATVs, and side-by-sides.
- Data includes information from states that require OHV registrations.
- Numbers are updated monthly to capture and reflect late or backlogged registrations.
- Monthly snapshot can be compared to prior year to date.
Quarterly Sales of Motorcycles and ATVs by General Type: Quarterly sales trends for ATVs and motorcycles.
- Categorized into different general types, including off-highway, on-highway, scooters, and ATVs.
- Data is from the MIC Retail Sales Reporting System. This system gathers sales data from OEMs, updated monthly.
- Data is from 1990 to present.
