BLENHEIM, CANADA – January 30, 2024 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – RM Sotheby’s kicked off the 2024 auction season at the iconic Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa. Celebrating its 26th year in Arizona, the Biltmore turned into a gathering place for both automotive enthusiasts and collectors. The auction saw a successful sale of 76% of all lots, resulting in a total sales figure of $22,937,660.

Highlights

2020 McLaren Speedtail – Number 69 of 106 individually specified examples produced, the 2020 McLaren Speedtail went under the hammer finished in bespoke McLaren Special Operations (MSO) Liquid Blue Silver over blue and gray full aniline leather and is the legacy of McLaren’s seminal F1 supercar reimagined for the 21st century. Indicating just 54 miles at time of cataloguing, the Speedtail went to its new owner for $2,012,500.

1938 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Special Roadster in the style of Sindelfingen – This exceptionally restored 540 K, in the sought-after Special Roadster style by master craftsman Cass Nawrocki, stood out with beautiful colors and presentation. An exceptional example of coachbuilding and automotive artistry, it beckons for both showcasing and thrilling road adventures. The supercharged engine ensures unmatched performance, and it will provide a unique and unforgettable driving experience as one of the great Full Classics as it sold for $1,545,000.

1984 Audi Sport Quattro – This Sport Quattro is a rare gem among the 214 constructed, with a unique history as one of the few examples believed to be originally delivered new to Japan. The car is remarkably preserved, boasting just 8,806 kilometers (5,472 miles) at the time of cataloguing. The exterior showcases an elegant white finish, complemented by gray leather and cloth Recaro sport seats in the interior. Breaking its previous record by over $100,000, this example sold for an impressive $665,000.
