MONTEREY, CA – August 13, 2021 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Tonight in Monterey, California, RM Sotheby’s offered the Paul Andrews Estate Collection, 26 astonishing cars spanning 65 years of automotive history. Offered largely without reserve, the collection achieved $34,439,000.

Regarded by many as one of the most beautiful sports GT cars of the 1960s, the rare 1962 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagatoled the night, bringing $9,520,000. One of only 19 DB4GT Zagatos built and with only six left-hand-drive examples, the Aston was ordered new with numerous unique features specified by original owner. Equipped with the original engine and presented in outstanding condition, this remarkable car is one of the most collectable Aston Martins in existence.

Another highlight of the Thursday evening dedicated auction was one of the oldest cars in the collection, the beautifully restored 1929 Duesenberg Model J ‘Butterfly’ Dual-Cowl Phaeton, which sold above the high estimate for $3,305,000. Also selling above its high estimate was the spectacular 1965 Aston DB5 Convertible for $3,195,000.
