STUART, FL – November 14, 2018 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The Thor Winter Olympics has a long and rich history as one of the premier amateur motocross events in the world. Many of today’s Stars have raced at this prestigious event and gone on to do great things in their racing careers.
Every year at the conclusion of the weeklong event, the Mini Olympics presents some very special awards sponsored by the industry’s most trusted brands. All of the awards highlight exceptional achievements throughout the week of racing and recognize the athletes for their overall performance.
In 2015 a new award was established, the Nihilo Concepts Prodigy Award. This award is given to the 50cc rider in all 50 classes that accumulates the highest number of points, combined in both Supercross and Motocross.
Nihilo felt it was time to recognize the youngest athletes that are competing on this big stage. Many of these 4-8 year old racers will spend their young lives racing and training to become better athletes. Nihilo wanted to provide an award that would highlight their skills and effort throughout the week long event.
- 2015’s Award went to Daxton Bennick, Dax is one of the fastest 85 racers on the amateur scene today and is a member of KTM’s Orange Brigade which is sponsored by Nihilo Concepts
- 2016 saw Kade Johnson come away with the Prodigy Award, Kade has since become part of the Yamaha Blue Crew as one of their premier riders on the new YZ65.
- 2017’s Award went to Nate Hummel. Nate continued to improve after the Winter Olympics and had a great showing at Loretta Lynn’s.
As you can see Prodigy award winners demonstrate what takes to be a Champion. All of us at Nihilo Concepts would like to wish everyone competing this year the best of luck! Who do you think will be the next Nihilo Prodigy?
