2018 MotoAmerica Champions Celebrated In Las Vegas

The Annual Night Of Champions Leaves Them Smiling

LAS VEGAS, NV – October 13, 2018 – (Motor Sports Newswire) –  MotoAmerica, its champions, teams, sponsors, fans and the motorcycle industry celebrated the 2018 MotoAmerica season on Thursday evening during a festive Night of Champions at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Motul Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier, Supersport Champion JD Beach, Liqui Moly Junior Cup Champion Alex Dumas, Stock 1000 Champion Andrew Lee and Twins Cup Champion Chris Parrish, as well as the top three in each class, were honored last night.

Additionally, Mathew Scholtz was named as the Motul Superbike Rookie of the Year; Yamaha won the inaugural Wells Fargo Manufacturers Cup; and Josh Herrin walked away with the first-ever MotoAmerica Social Media Cup.

“It’s been an amazing year and I just can’t thank all my guys enough and Yamaha,” Beaubier said after receiving his awards from MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “They truly are like family. Thanks to all those guys for putting up with my crap and always giving it 110 percent. I’m really, really proud of what we did this year. We were all on the back foot and we kept fighting and that’s what it’s all about. Toni (Elias) came in 2016 and had to learn all the tracks and all the stuff and he had an old bike. Last year he showed what a World Champion he is, an incredible rider, and he definitely raised the bar in the last year. I’m really happy that we were able to match his season and give him something to fight with. Big thanks to everyone in my corner. I’m really going to enjoy this one.”

In addition to honoring its champions, MotoAmerica also announced that it had renewed its deal with the American Motorcyclist Association in which it will remain the home of the AMA Superbike Championship through the 2029 season.
