Forgeline's GS1R Optional Wheel for Ford Shelby FP350s Race Car

The company is supplying its GS1R 18 x 11-inch racing wheel as an option for the latest race-ready Mustang from Ford Performance. The fitment for the FP350S follows the recent selection of the GS1R wheel for Ford’s 2018 Mustang GT4 race car, which is made for competition in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Pirelli World Challenge, the GT4 European Series and other GT4 events.

Introduced at the 2016 Performance Racing Industry Show in Indianapolis, the Ford Shelby FP350S is designed for road racing in Trans Am (TA3 and TA4 classes), NASA, and SCCA club racing events. The all-new factory-built race car features a 5.2-liter four-valve-per-cylinder V8 engine prepared by Ford Performance Parts and a long list of race-oriented fitments, including Forgeline’s most highly acclaimed race wheel, that make it the ultimate turn-key race car.

Made from a one-piece forging of 6061-T6 aluminum, the Forgeline GS1R race wheel is super lightweight and highly durable with extreme stiffness and fatigue strength to withstand the stress of competition racing. The wheel was developed using Forgeline’s computer-simulated FEA design process, which offers the best quality and strength-to-weight ratio with forgings that are 40% stronger than the latest cast aluminum technology. The wheel’s monoblock construction and I-beamed spoke technology create exceptional deflection stiffness that meets the demand of top-level endurance racing. With additional material machined from the center of the GS1R, the race wheel offers reduced weight and improved access to the lugs for faster wheel changes.

Design features that add to the look of the track-ready Shelby Mustang’s wheels include a concave profile, V-spoke pattern and a chamfered outer lip with smooth edges for easy handling. Customized finish options are available for a personalized look.
