DAYTONA BEACH, FL – March 19, 2018 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – American Flat Track (AFT) has renewed its strategic partnership with Dainese, which returns as the series’ Official Motorcycle Safety and Race Apparel for the 2018 season.
Dainese is renowned around the globe for its innovative, stylish, and exceptionally high-quality products – but equally so for the race results it has garnered while protecting its athletes. Two-wheeled motorsport icons such as Giacomo Agostini, the late Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts and Valentino Rossi have thrilled multitudes of fans over the decades while wearing Dainese gear.
The Italian firm delivered at that same level in 2017 as it applied what it’s learned in GP competition and elsewhere to the uniquely challenging battleground of American Flat Track. Partnered with the Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew, Dainese-adorned riders were victorious in 14 of 18 races last season en route to securing the top three spots in the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines championship.
“Dainese is the world leader in safety and technology solutions for motorcyclists of every type,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track, “and we are delighted to be partnering with them as American Flat Track experiences rapid growth. Our AFT athletes race under unique and challenging conditions, and Dainese’s expert input will help deliver superior safety solutions for the future.”
Never content to rest on prior success, Dainese is dedicated to transforming the lessons and data obtained dirt-tracking in 2017 into ever-more innovative products this season and beyond. This includes the continued development of its breakthrough D-Air® intelligent airbag-based protection systems.
“We are proud to enter our second year of partnership with American Flat Track,” said Roberto Sadowsky, Executive Vice President of Dainese USA Inc. “As the series grows we plan to grow with it, and continue to develop technologies that cater to flat track racers.”
