Nine days of auction action at the Indiana State Fairgrounds will feature rare exotics, American muscle icons and more

WALWORTH, WI – April 30, 2026 – (Motor. Sports NewsWire) – Mecum Auctions is set to take over the Indiana State Fairgrounds for Dana Mecum’s 39th Original Spring Classic , May 8-16, for nine back-to-back days of high-energy auction action. Mecum will carry the massive momentum created at its January auction in Kissimmee, Florida, into its second-largest auction of the year, with an estimated 2,500 vehicles slated to cross the block, including 28 private collections. Headlining the Indy auction is The M Group Collection, featuring exceptionally high-end examples of both rare European exotics and iconic American muscle. The auction will stream live on ESPN+ Wednesday, May 13, through Saturday, May 16, starting daily at noon Eastern. The entire auction, from start to finish, will be available for viewing via the Live Block Cam on Mecum’s website.

The M Group Collection is a striking assembly of 41 rare, high-performance vehicles from some of the most iconic names in automotive design. Spanning European sports cars, American muscle, and modern hypercars, it showcases top-tier collectibility through celebrated marques and standout models from around the world. The entire collection will sell at no reserve, with the exception of a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder , which is the last Ferrari 250 GT SWB California spyder built. Other highlights from the collection include a one-of-30 1995 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, a Sassy Grass Green 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Coupe and a one-of-213 1991 Ferrari F40. The entire collection will cross the block on the final day of Mecum Indy, Saturday, May 16.

Alongside the M Group, other main attractions include a pair of Ferraris—one 2003 Enzo and a 2014 LaFerrari, with both selling at no reserve—and an impressive selection of American muscle in the form of a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that stands as No. 2 of 69 built, a one-of-59 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T SE, and a trio of original and unrestored 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Coupesthat form The Exemplar Collection. Also heading to Indy is Serial No. 01 of a limited-production run of 25 cars dubbed the “Eleanor: Gone Again” series; the custom-built 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback was constructed by the same visionary team that created the original movie-screen icon.

Another fascinating segment of vehicles headed for the Indy auction block are those rare and low-production models, such as a one-of-82 1965 Chevrolet Impala Wagon and a one-of-five V-code 4-speed 1971 Plymouth Cuda Convertible. Others include a one-of-three 1970 Shelby GT500 Convertiblefinished in Grabber Orange and a 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series, which is one of 50 produced. Along with low-production vehicles, there are also plenty of low-mileage examples in the lineup as well, including a 1975 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible showing 110 miles, a 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadsterdisplaying only 29 miles, and a 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano showing just 1,900 miles on the odometer.

Among the 28 collections heading for Mecum Indy is The Apex Collection, which is stacked with significant Corvettes, Shelbys, Chevelles and more. Led by a 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster, the collection even encompasses European favorites from Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari and beyond. The Heritage Estate Collection is a curated crew of domestic darlings filled with classics that range from a pair of ’32 Fords and a couplet of 1950s Bel Airs to a handful of both vintage and modern Corvettes. Also on offer is the Great Lakes Collection, which is led by a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air IV, a 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible and the aforementioned 1971 Plymouth Cuda Convertible.
