This Weekend’s NHRA SPORTSnationals Events Postponed

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – May 18, 2026 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Due to an inclement weather forecast in both Kentucky and Maryland, the JEGS SPORTSnationals at Beech Bend Raceway Park and the Testo SPORTSnationals at Cecil County Dragway are being postponed.

The JEGS SPORTSnationals at Beech Bend Raceway Park will move to the final weekend of August, as part of a revitalization of JEGS Speedweek, with the previously planned North Central Division Lucas Oil Series event now taking place first followed by the SPORTSnationals. The event will still include class eliminations for Stock and Super Stock. The Top Alcohol portion of the Lucas Oil Series divisional will still take place on the weekend. Full details to follow in the coming weeks. The official dates are August 26-30.

The Testo SPORTSnationals at Cecil County Dragway and the associated Northeast Division Lucas Oil Series event will move to August 13-16, with the format unchanged, including a divisional event, followed by class eliminations and a SPORTSnationals race to finish out the weekend.

“NHRA officials have worked with both tracks and event sponsors to make this decision as early as possible,” said Jason Galvin, NHRA Sportsman Manager. “We value our sportsman racers and want to deliver the best experience for them at each event and feel this solution is the best moving forward for all parties.

These decisions were made in conjunction with Broc Porter at Beech Bend Raceway Park and the team from JEGS Performance, all of whom have been updated with the plans and are enthusiastic about the ability to host such an event leading into the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals.

The same can be said in Division 1, where Division Director Mark Dawson worked with Jim Halsey and the team at Cecil County Dragway, as well as Michael Ficacci at Testo to create a workable solution to a tough problem.”
