WALWORTH, WI – May 29, 2025 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Dana Mecum’s 38th Original Spring Classic, also known as Mecum Indy 2025 , continued a five-year trend of exceeding $100 million in total overall sales this May 9-17. Throughout the event’s nine consecutive days of non-stop auction action, a grand total of 1,732 individual cars, trucks, motorcycles and more were sold, along with hundreds of Road Art® items, resulting in a strong 77% sell-through rate. Three vehicles offered at the event, held at Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, sold for final prices in the seven-figure range.

Top auction sales at Indy 2025 were led by the 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari (Lot S150) that sold for $3.85 million, followed by two others that broke the million-dollar mark, including a 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse (Lot S152) that brought $2.64 million and a 2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione Coupe (Lot F160.1) that sold for $1.54 million. Both the LaFerrari and the Bugatti were from the highly anticipated Dave Frecka Collection, while the 812 hailed from the aptly named Apex Collection.

In total, more than 40 private collections were offered in Indianapolis, including the estate collection of Mecum’s own John Kraman. With an emotional reception from a crowd full of Kraman’s friends, fans and followers, the collection sold in its entirety, led by the $101,750 sale of his low-mile and long-owned 1964 Pontiac GTO Hardtop (Lot T135) and the $93,500 sale of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (Lot T131) that he bought new. Top-performing collections in Indy included The Bobby Knudsen Collection, which was led by a selection of eight Pontiac Catalinas, including two of the ultra-rare 1963 “Swiss Cheese” racing editions. One of the pair (Lot S114), a car campaigned by Jim Wangers, became a top-10 seller with a $742,500 sale price, and the other ( Lot S115) achieved a strong $473,000. In addition to the aforementioned Ferrari 812, The Apex Collection saw some additional excellent individual sales, with several other cars from the offering earning spots among the auction’s top-sellers list. Among them were a 1965 Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadster (Lot F152) that brought $990,000, a 2022 Ford GT (Lot F160) that sold for $770,000 and a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback (Lot F150) in a rare color combo that sold for $627,000.

Other private collection offerings in Indy to grab the attention of attendees included a selection from Derek Bieri of the YouTube hit show “Vice Grip Garage.”Each one of the five vehicles had been personally resurrected by Bieri himself as featured finds on his popular show.
