Early Highlights of the Bonhams|Cars Zoute Sale

KNOKKE-HEIST, LE ZOUTE – July 24, 2024 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Bonhams|Cars returns to Knokke-Heist, Belgium for one of the biggest sales on its international calendar this October. Held during the Zoute Grand Prix for the past 12 years, The Zoute Sale has consistently achieved exceptional results such for automotive legends both old and new seen by last year’s results marking the most successful sale to date with a grand total of €27 million. The 2023 edition was led by highlights such as the 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta TdF selling for €4.83 million, 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder selling for €1.2 million, and 1929 Bugatti Type 37 Grand Prix selling €1.15 million.   

This year’s line-up is poised to follow suit with a 1926 Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix Two-Seater. Estimated at €1,200,000 – €1,400,000, this car has been held with the same family for over 60 years. Having been acquired by an F1-driver in 1964, this spectacular 8-cylinder Grand Prix car still resides in the same family since. Unlike most Type 35s, this car is highly original having retained its original engine. An extensive restoration was completed in 2008. With a thoroughly documented history and originality, this car presents a unique opportunity for the discerning Bugatti collector to not only own a piece of history but to also enjoy it as it was designed to be.

2010 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, estimate €1,500,000 – €2,500,000 

Representing contemporary collectibles, a show-stopping monochromatic 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, estimated at €1,500,000 – €2,500,000, will be offered without reserve. The very last of the ultra-exclusive Stirling Moss series, this red-on-red example is no. 75 of 75 produced. Presented with delivery mileage, this presents an attractive opportunity to acquire a nearly “brand new” example. Most recently, it garnered significant attention while on display at the Bonhams|Cars Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on 12 July.  

Another rare gem offered is the 2011 Aston Martin One-77. This is the no. 1 of only 77 examples produced and has been with the same owner since new, presented with delivery mileage – only 528 km. Offered at an estimate of €800,000 – €1,200,000 without reserve, this car represents Aston Martin’s ultimate expression of design, engineering, and craftsmanship. In addition to its stylish appearance, this car is a true cutting-edge, racing-inspired sports car.   

Additional highlights include: 

• 1955 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback, previously owned by Count Bernadotte of Sweden. Estimate: €360,000 – €400,000.
• 1992 Lamborghini Diablo, presented with only 37,000 km and one owner from new. Estimate: €180,000 – €250,000.
• 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta that has been professionally restored at no expense spared, Estimate: €250,000 – €350,000
