Dunlop Dominates Off-Road Racing in 2023

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – November 3, 2023 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) –  In addition to winning all the AMA Pro Supercross and Motocross championships in 2023 for the fourteenth consecutive year, Dunlop riders also have won over 19 off-road pro class championships in various disciplines throughout the year. The success of these champions is due in part to the wide array of tires Dunlop has to offer to its racers. These industry leading Geomax products include the MX14, MX3S, MX33, MX34, MX53, AT81, AT81RC, AT81EX, EN91 and EN91EX. Multiple racers across the country put these tires on the top step of the podium.

In the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) championship, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Craig Delong won his first XC1 championship after a tight points battle throughout the year and a grand finale where the top five riders finished within five and a half seconds of each other! Liam Draper, on his AmPro Yamaha, won the XC2 GNCC championship thanks to his three wins, and Toby Cleveland clinched the XC3 GNCC championship in the penultimate round. Rachael Archer locked up the WXC title at round 10 on her AmPro Yamaha, giving Dunlop a sweep of all the pro-GNCC titles up for grabs in 2023.

Out west in the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS), Justin Hoeft took home the Pro 450 class championship, and Jack Simpson grabbed the Pro 250 championship both on their Purvines Racing Yamahas. In addition, Kaitlyn Jacobs won her first Women’s Pro Championship on her FMF RPM KTM, giving Dunlop a sweep of all the pro-WORCS titles in 2023.

In the National Enduro series, Grant Baylor, on his Monster Energy Babbitts Kawasaki, grabbed the Pro 1 championship at the penultimate round, which became his second overall championship in a row and his third in four years. Team AmPro Yamaha rider Liam Draper won his second off-road championship of the year in the Pro 2 class. Mackenzie Tricker of the Enduro Engineering GasGas team took home the Women’s championship, her fifth women’s elite championship in a row. These victories give Dunlop another sweep of all of the pro titles in this series as well.

The National Grand Prix Championship (NGPC) occurs in California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona, where Dunlop riders shined again. FMF KTM Factory Off-road Racing Team’s Dante Oliveria and SLR Honda’s Kade Tinkler-Walker won the Pro and Pro II championships, respectively. At the same time, Team Dunlop Elite Alum Mikayla Nielsen, on her Dunlop/Piston Bones/Alpinestars KTM, won her first Pro Women’s championship as a rookie. Once again, Dunlop came out on top in all three NGPC premier classes.

Meanwhile, at round five of six in the National Hare and Hound Association (NHHA) series, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Off-Road Team’s Dalton Shirey clinched the Pro class. Additionally, Rachel Stout clinched the Pro Women’s class championship.

In the technical US Sprint Enduro series, Dunlop riders won all three pro classes. In the Pro class, FMF KTM’s Johnny Girroir won the championship, and Australian rider Angus Riordan captured the Pro 2 class title on his RPM Racing KTM. AmPro Yamaha’s Rachael Archer took home her second championship of the year in the Women’s class.

In the AMA Hard Enduro championship, FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart took the pro-class championship. Hart relied on Dunlop’s special new hard enduro Geomax EN91EX that was explicitly designed for the unique challenges Hard Enduro riders face every race.

“This impressive list of championships shows just how diverse and dominant Dunlop’s off-road tires truly are,” said Broc Glover, Sr. Manager, Off-road Motorcycle for Dunlop. “The unwavering commitment we have as a company from top to bottom allows Dunlop to not only have a full lineup of off-road tires, but a full lineup of championship winning off-road tires!”
