Colton Haaker Sweeps AMA EnduroCross Series Opener on Oklahoma

BEGINS SOLID TITLE DEFENSE IN 2021

MURRIETA, CA – September 20, 2021 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Colton Haaker got off to a strong start in his AMA EnduroCross title defense, sweeping all three races at Saturday’s season opener in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The four-time EnduroCross Champion immediately established himself as the rider to beat at Round 1, charging his Husqvarna FX350 to pole position with the fastest Hot Lap in the pro division. With a three-moto format once again in 2021, Haaker took advantage of his top gate pick in race one as he jumped into the early lead. With a hard-charging Trystan Hart (KTM) behind him, Haaker fended off the pressure to claim victory by 5.356 seconds in the first race.

With an inverted start order for the second race, Haaker battled from the back to reach a top-five position by the end of lap one. He continued to charge up to first later on the second lap and he never looked back from there, charging his way to a bigger margin of victory with 13.431 seconds over Cooper Abbott (KTM).

In the third and final race, Haaker found himself back in seventh on the opening lap and he made an early charge to break into the top-two after four laps. He overtook the lead halfway through the race and he did what he needed to do to edge out Hart by 1.878 seconds in the final race, claiming three-for-three Main Event wins at Round 1.

“I had a great night tonight, it was the perfect night, honestly,” Haaker said. “I went 1-1-1 and got the Hot Lap, and I attribute a lot to the team and I working to get the bike set-up perfect for me. It was a big difference overall when that came together. I’m just stoked. Honestly, I’ve already done more in this career than I ever thought I was going to and after the realization of that, everything from this point forward is just a cherry on top.”
