More prizes awarded in annual drawing for new and renewing members

PICKERINGTON, OH – February 3, 2020 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Bruce D. Sass, of Aurora, Colo., is the grand prize winner in the 2019 AMA Member Sweepstakes. His prize is a 2019 Yamaha Star Eluder.

Sass’ name was selected from all those who joined the American Motorcyclist Association or renewed their membership during the 2019 calendar year.

“This is way cool,” Sass said. “I always tell my friends that as long as you’ve got room, you can never have too many motorcycles. I have plenty of room, so I can fit another one in there.”

Sass has been riding and racing motorcycles since 1969 with the Sports Riders Association of Colorado. In AMA road racing, Sass was the 1977 novice national champion, winning two 250cc nationals.

In 2005, he was inducted into the Colorado Motorsports Hall of Fame.

He currently competes in vintage motocross and vintage road racing events and hopes to attend AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days in Lexington, Ohio, July 10-12.

The grand prize winner in the 2020 AMA Member Sweepstakes annual drawing will receive a 2020 Yamaha XSR900, part of the company’s Sport Heritage lineup. The XSR900 features exposed aluminum details, retro-influenced bodywork, a stepped seat and custom lighting and instrumentation.

Other prizes to be awarded in the 2020 annual drawing include a choice of Shoei helmet, a Helite Moto airbag vest, a Cardo Systems Packtalk Bold JBL and an Aerostich R3 one-piece suit.
