Legends and Heroes Tour

SEATTLE, WA – April 3, 2018 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The Legends and Heroes Tour traveling moto museum is pleased to announce that they will honor Northwest motocross Legend Eric Eaton this Saturday night at round thirteen of the Monster Energy Supercross series in Seattle, Washington.

The Tour stands behind the belief that “We Don’t Leave History Behind” and has kept the founding fathers, and mothers, pure in their thoughts by honoring the men and women that shaped supercross and motocross into what it is today. Each honoree receives a special commemorative plaque during a special podium presentation on the stadium floor before opening ceremonies.

About Eric Eaton:

Eric Eaton is most known for his overall victory in the 500cc class at Washougal in 1985, but his career is much more than that one race. Raised in a motorcycling family, he is a Pacific Northwest legend. Hailing Tacoma, Washington, his dad Marshall opened a Husqvarna and Maico dealership in 1973. After racing locally, Eric’s first National was in 1980 where he finished 16th on a Maico 500. He spent the early 80’s competing on the national circuit with Maico support before moving to a Honda for Team Tamm in 1984. He finished 17th overall in supercross and 13th overall in the 500MX class at the nationals. In 1985 he switched to a Yamaha support ride and enjoyed his most successful year as a pro. In the 1985 National Motocross Series 500MX class, Eric would score nine top ten overall finished including five podiums and a win at Washougal. He would finish second behind series champ Broc Glover.

An injury in 1987 ended his professional career, but he hasn’t left the sport of motocross or powersports industry. The dealership his dad started, Northwest European Cycles is one of the oldest KTM dealerships in the country and Eric, and his longtime friend former race mechanic Kenny Almquist own the Tacoma, Washington dealership.

Join us on Saturday as we salute this Pacific Northwest legend.

With nearly 5000 square feet of display space, the Legends and Heroes Tour is a definite must-see during the Pit Party at a supercross near you.

The mobile museum features walk-through display videos that allow our guests the opportunity to take a trip back to back to where the sport began. The videos show the heroes of the sport from the beginning of their careers to the races that made them famous. New to the tour in 2018 is the Supercross Virtual Reality mobile experience (SXVR) where fans can experience the thrill of supercross via VR technology and feel like they are on the racetrack.

Fans are also encouraged to stop by early and pick up a complimentary copy of RacerX magazine while supplies last. And thanks to our local friends at each round, the Legends Tour features some of the best vintage motocross bikes on display in a single location. Featuring different vehicles at each round, our guests can relive the machines of their youth and show their family and friends the early days of motocross and supercross.
