LIVINGSTON, CA – June 28, 2018 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha Team is disappointed to announce that Kyle Chisholm will miss the rest of the 2018 Pro Motocross Championship due to a torn ACL. Chisholm was injured at the High Point National and has sought professional medical attention where surgery on the damaged knee was required. We wish Kyle a speedy recovery and look forward to working with him in preparation for the 2019 AMA Supercross season.
“This definitely wasn’t the way I had my summer planned” Chisholm mentioned. “I finally felt like I had some momentum on my side, but this little hiccup isn’t going to slow us down. I’m also taking some time to take care of some other lingering injuries that I have. I will get this all fixed up and be 100% come Supercross season. I’m thankful for the successful year that I’ve had until this point and look forward to coming back stronger than ever.”
Chisholm’s injury comes after a successful Supercross campaign in the 250 West and 450 East Regional Championship where he finished 7th and 23rd respectively. Kyle and the #11 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha YZ450F were competing in the 450MX class of the 2018 Pro Motocross Championship which started strong with 11th and 9th place finishes at the opening two rounds.
