SEATTLE, WA – August 11, 2017 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The Shop, a state-of-the-art club for car and motorcycle enthusiasts, opens today in Seattle’s SoDo district. The 36,500-square-foot warehouse is a gearheads’ dream: indoor storage with a viewing area, repair bays, car and motorcycle experts on hand, how-to classes, valet service, meeting rooms, lounge spaces, indoor detailing facilities and a new Ethan Stowell restaurant, Derby, imagined specifically for SoDo. This ‘country club for gearheads’ is a secure, temperature controlled home for classic, muscle, antique and exotic cars as well as motorcycles of all types.
“Every car has a story, and it’s my vision that people will gather around incredible cocktails and great food from Ethan Stowell and share their adventures,” said Matt Bell, founder of The Shop. “Whether members want to build the ride of their dreams or just look at them, we have designed the perfect environment for all car and motorcycle enthusiasts to feel welcomed, be it in the private members’ club or at Derby.”

While most of the venue is for members only, Derby is open to the public. Derby is open weekdays from 11am to 10pm, offering lunch and dinner—weekend brunch begins at 10am. Happy hour runs daily from 3pm to 7pm, with specials on drinks and snacks. The menu features classic comfort food made with great Northwest ingredients. Diners will be treated to an ever-changing car show as the restaurant seating looks out over the members’ car storage floor.
“SoDo is such an interesting neighborhood,” says Stowell. “It’s been great getting to know the area and creating a restaurant that will really fill a hole. Derby is going to be a lot of things to a lot of people: from an easy weekday lunch spot to a great place for an after work cocktail to a bite with friends before a game.”
