MINNEAPOLIS, MN – February 19, 2017 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely worked his way through the pack after an early fall and managed to make it all the way up to a fifth-place result. His finish kept his streak alive as Seely has finished in the top five in the last six out of seven rounds.
The Honda rider was more than ready for the gate to drop on the Main Event with Seely grabbing the holeshot inside U.S. Bank Stadium. Not long after the first few turns, Seely went down but was able to get up quickly and complete the first lap in 10th. In the second lap, he picked up several positions and was able to take over his finishing position of fifth just before halfway. With the leaders out of site, he maintained consistent speed, allowing for another solid finish.
“I was feeling good coming into the main event and was really pumped on the holeshot,” said Seely. “It was a little tricky out there and I just made a small mistake. I was happy I was able to get up quickly so I didn’t lose too much time.”
Seely currently sits fourth in the championship standings, just two points out of third. The next round of the Monster Energy Supercross is on February 25 and will be one of the last events inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
Seely wore the SE Air Corsa Yellow and Red Racewear in practice, the SE Gravity Flo Yellow in the main event, and was protected by the SE4 helmet. See more of the 2017 gear sets and the 2017 Moto Helmets online and at your local TLD retailer.
