Gold Wing Road Riders Association Celebrates 40 Years!

6 02 2017

PHOENIX, AZ – February 6, 2017 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – This year, Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) will celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Today, GWRRA ─ with over 800 Chapters, 1,300 Volunteer Officers and a corporate staff of only 16 ─ has taken the idea of association management and volunteerism to levels never before seen in the motorcycle industry. GWRRA is now the world’s largest single marque motorcycle association!

Founded in 1977 by Paul Hildebrand and Shirley Stephens-Garcia, along with seven other fellow Gold Wing enthusiasts, GWRRA began as a dream. Over the years, it has grown into a 72,000-member, 53-country, internationally renowned reality welcoming all types of motorcycle enthusiasts.

To celebrate its 40 years of success as an association, GWRRA is planning a series of events throughout 2017, with the last planned celebration taking place at the annual Wing Ding event. A special “Throwback to the Desert Disco Ball” is being held at Wing Ding 39 in Grapevine, Texas, that will include a special commemorative gift for those who attend the dinner.

GWRRA, whose motto is “Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge,” is a not-for-profit organization providing rider education, social structure, events, rallies, rides and meetings throughout the year.

If you would like to receive more information about the association, Wing Ding 39 or to schedule an interview, please visit GWRRA’s websites: www.gwrra.org and www.wing-ding.org or call 800-843-9460. You can also email president@gwrra.org.
