CORONA, CA – October 25, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM riders Shane McElrath, Mitchell Oldenburg, and new teammate Jordon Smith showed their speed at the one-of-a-kind Red Bull Straight Rhythm competition at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. When the final bracket lined up, it was McElrath versus Oldenburg with McElrath taking the Lites championship.
The first race of the night – the quarterfinals – saw McElrath quickly transfer to the semi finals only to be paired against new teammate Smith, who also had a good quarterfinals showing. In the semis, the two put on some of the best racing of the night and after McElrath grabbed two wins out of three races, he was headed to the finals. Oldenburg was also showing speed of his own, and bested his matchup in the semis to race against teammate McElrath.
With the two Troy Lee Designs riders dressed to match and looking sharp, they battled for the coveted Lites title. Oldenburg pulled out all the stops to try and keep McElrath at bay, but in the end McElrath swept Oldenburg for the title.
“This is a really crazy event because even though it’s only 40 seconds long, my heart rate is definitely at a super high rate,” said McElrath. “It was cool to see Troy Lee Designs represented so well in the Lites class. I’m really happy to pull out a win.”
The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM riders wore the SE Corsa Red Racewear along with the SE4 Carbon Factory Yellow helmet. See all of the 2017 gear sets and the 2017 Moto Helmets online and at your local TLD retailer.

“READY TO RACE” for KTM, these three words are far more than a simple slogan. They stand for the entire company philosophy of developing vehicles that can without any modifications comprehensively assert themselves in any race. Direct from the dealer onto the track and into the battle for victory. Designers, engineers and riders are bound by a clear common denominator: an unconditional passion for motorcycles. The whole KTM family is a living example of this worldwide. Countless offroad World and European championship titles plus brilliant victories in the world’s toughest races (International Six Days Enduro, Dakar Rally, Erzbergrodeo, and many more) all speak for themselves. And KTM Supermotos, Naked Bikes, Superbikes and the X-Bow all demonstrate what an “orange” lead means on asphalt.
