LOS ALAMITOS, CA – February 22, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – While being a fun party game, there’s no need to rip your sleeves off with the Honcho. The Honcho combines the best features of a leather jacket with a traditional denim riders vest. “While the Honcho will make you want to party, it will also keep you warm when it’s cold and stylish when the weather heats up,” says Roland Sands.
Like all Roland Sands Designs offerings, function went into the gear before the RSD name ever went on it. Zip-off sleeves bring dual-purpose function to this contemporary classic. “The Honcho brings a certain amount of class and versatility to your ride as well as the after party,” says Sands. “The Honcho fits in at your local dive bar and could get you through a night of punk rock music as well as a twisty canyon road.”
The usual RSD attention to detail means flex gussets in the back for ease of motion; rotated, pre-curved sleeves, a slight dropped back length and relaxed collar opening. “The Honcho is good on the bike and comfortably casual when you are out of the saddle.”
The supple leather sleeves are “Blackstone” top grain cowhide (.8mm-.9mm thickness). When the weather warms the sleeves zip-off up via quality YKK zippers. Another example of the workmanship and attention to detail that went into the Honcho are the zip-close cuffs on the sleeves.
The dark indigo denim body is 100% cotton. The waxed cotton vest is water repellent with button front closure and patch pockets on the chest and a quilted satin liner for comfort. Adjustable waist tabs help tailor the fit as well. Get a better look at the RSD Honcho here:

Roland Sands is from Long Beach, California. His diverse upbringing encompasses just about every aspect of the motorcycle industry. His first motorcycle was an RM50 dirt bike given to him on his 5th birthday, on which, after just minutes of riding, he broke a bone… but fell in love with it anyway. His love of speed on two wheels took him to the professional racing ranks for 10 years. He set multiple track records around the world and was the 1998 American Motorcyclist Association 250GP champion. However, 32 broken bones later, Roland decided to trade in his racing leathers for a hammer, pencil and computer designing and began building motorcycles and custom motorcycle products. In 2005, he founded Roland Sands Design. Sands’ designs are a mixture of sport bike and chopper influences and he has played a pivotal role in popularizing high performance custom bikes. Roland and his designs (motorcycles and products) have earned many accolades throughout the years, including three V-Twin Wheel Design of the year awards; V-Twin Control Design; Chip Foose Design of Excellence Award in Sturgis; 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in the Modified Harley class at the World Championship of Custom Bike Building; V-Twin Trendsetter of the Year award; Biker Build Off Champion on the Discovery Channel; Biker Build Off Rookie of the year and the 2Wheel Tuner Brappy Award. Roland and the RSD fleet of custom motorcycles have been featured in more than 500 magazine articles worldwide, on more than 100 magazines covers. He attends most American motorcycle rallies and events year round, as well as multiple International shows. Sands has also starred in a variety of TV shows including Nitro Circus, Chopper Nation, Biker Build Off, Thunder and many others.
