Troy Lee Designs’ Seely Races to Podium Finish at Season Opener

ANAHEIM, CA – January 10, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) –  Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely made a notable start to the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross season at Angel Stadium Saturday night, leading over half the laps and finishing on the podium in third.

The 2015 Rookie of the Year picked up where he left off, showcasing his quickness in the second heat race as he qualified straight to the Main Event with a second place finish. Seely caught a break after a mid-pack start in the Main Event when the field was red flagged because of a downed rider. He made the most of the restart, edging out the field to the first turn and assuming the lead through the first half of the race. After 20 long laps were completed, Seely held on to a podium result as he came across the finish in third position.

“On the restart I got off to a great start and felt awesome out there until about the halfway point,” said Seely. “But this is a great way to start the season and if you had told me yesterday that I would be on the podium today, with all this California rain, I would have been thrilled.”

With the first of 17 rounds in the books, the tour now heads to Petco Park in downtown San Diego for the next stop on the Monster Energy Supercross tour.

Seely wore a custom painted SE Helmet with the SE LE Cosmic Camo Red Racewear. See more of the 2016 gear sets and the 2016 Moto Helmets online and at your local TLD retailer.
