Championship of the Americas Custom Bike Show and Chopper Legends Showcase Highlight Three-Day Festivities
IRVINE, CA – October 14, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – One of the most anticipated additions to this week’s Third Annual American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) from Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), October 15-18, is the first ever Garage Party. This three-day celebration of V-Twin and custom bike culture will take place from October 16-18 and is highlighted by the AIMExpo Championship of the Americas Custom Bike Show and the Chopper Legends Showcase.
Hosted by Garage Party Ambassador Leticia Cline, this one-of-a-kind gathering will recognize both the past and present of the V-Twin world with a variety of events, including custom bike showcases, live music, and of course plenty of parties!
Everything kicks off on Friday evening with a builders’ party for the exceptionally talented contestants of the Championship of the Americas at Orlando Harley-Davidson Historic Factory. This inaugural event is the country’s premier custom bike competition and the ultimate showcase of design, engineering, and creativity for the most talented builders in the Americas. Special appearances are also sure to be made from custom chopper legend Dave Perewitz and his daughter Jody. Additionally, Cline and Bling’s Cycles owner Bill Dodge will host a Bling’s Cycles Insiders Party at the legendary custom shop in Daytona Beach.
The Chopper Legends Showcase will be the centerpiece of Saturday’s events, featuring some of the finest custom bikes from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, all handcrafted by the most renowned builders in the world – Jesse James, Dave Perewitz, Charlie Hadayia Sr., Freddie Arnold, Kyle Shorey, Todd Gilbertson, and more. Led Sled Customs’ Pat Patterson will host the Showcase, and will have some of his own coveted bikes on display. Additionally, judging for the Championship of the Americas and its four classes of competition – Free Style, Retro Custom, Street Custom, and Performance Custom – will also take place. A special Bling’s Cycles AIMExpo Garage Party Ride hosted by Bill Dodge will leave from Daytona Beach to the OCCC early Saturday afternoon, while a special Garage Party Shuttle Bus will make periodic trips from Destination Daytona to the OCCC and back throughout the day, with renowned action sports emcee and motorcycle personality “Dumptruck” serving as a special tour guide. Tickets are now available.
As Saturday evening approaches the energy will ramp up with a live Garage Party Concert featuring rockabilly music great Rocker Jason D. Williams, courtesy of Ace Cafe Orlando. The party continues long after the music stops with the Garage Party After Party at Miller’s Alehouse, just a short walk down the street from the OCCC.
The Garage Party’s final day on Sunday will provide arguably the biggest news of the weekend, as the winners of the Championship of the Americas will be announced at a special awards ceremony. With the inaugural event serving as an official qualifier for the 2016 AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, the four winners will receive a coveted entry and all expenses paid trip to next fall’s INTERMOT International Motorcycle Fair in Cologne, Germany, for a shot at being named World Champion. AIMExpo’s own Bob Kay and Cline will announce the winners as hosts of the ceremony.
