Cody Webb Wins Sacramento EnduroCross

Rachel Gutish Takes Top Women’s Honors

MEDFORD, OR – September 28, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The GEICO EnduroCross returned from its summer break, taking over the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, and KTM/RPM Racing’s Cody Webb returned to his winning ways by beating out a talented field of racers for the overall win.

This was a hometown race for Webb and his family and friends in attendance were not disappointed. It wasn’t an easy win – at least not off the start, as Webb almost crashed in the first turn and ended up at the back of the pack. Webb pushed hard, passing rider after rider, and by lap 3 he was in the lead.

“Sacramento EnduroCross was an important race for me because of two reasons, it’s my hometown race and it’s the beginning of the second half of the season stretch,” explained the current GEICO EnduroCross champion.  “I knew it was important to build some momentum and I was able to do just that. I was beyond ecstatic to get the win and the two extra championship bonus points.” Webb now holds a seven point lead over Haaker in the points heading into the Denver round, which will take place next weekend.

In the Women’s main event, KTM/RPM Racing’s Rachel Gutish rode a flawless race to lead every lap to win her second ever EnduroCross main event.  Motorcycle Superstore’s Sandra Gomez took third despite riding with broken toes that were injured just a week before. The battle for the women’s championship is now tied between Gutish and Lexi Pechout with 90 points each.

“I’m very happy to be on top of the box for the first time since Vegas in 2013! Everything went remarkably smooth. I just grabbed the holeshot, took the lead, and never looked back,” said Gutish. “I hope to carry the momentum into next week’s Denver round.”

If you have never been to an EnduroCross, you might add it to your bucket list. Here is the remaining schedule for 2015.
