Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM Riders Fresh From Weekend Break to Tackle Millville’s Spring Creek MX Park

CORONA, CA – July 15, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) –  Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM’s Jessy Nelson, Shane McElrath, and Mitchell Oldenburg all kept up the hard work during the weekend off, ready to put in impressive results at the eighth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Spring Creek MX Park. The Millville, Minnesota circuit has plenty of challenging elements, but the riders are prepared to put their KTM machines at the front of the pack.

Nelson continued his string of consistent finishes at the previous round in Michigan. He’s been in the top-10 overall at every race since Round 2, and has finished in the top-10 in 9 of the last 14 motos.

“I haven’t always been where I’ve wanted to be at the end, but I think I’m showing speed and being consistent,” said Nelson. “I really want to get back on the podium and prove I can run up front.”

McElrath has been training on the East Coast and has shown that the extra time in the heat and humidity has helped him push at the end of the motos. He’s had some bad luck on the start, but is looking to turn that luck around in Minnesota.

“I haven’t really been able to challenge at the front like I know I’m capable of because of some bad luck on the starts,” said McElrath. “I’m going to be concentrating on getting some good starts this weekend and hopefully will be able to be there at the end.”

Oldenburg has finished in the top-15 in eight out of last 12 motos, looking to post finishes in the points as the season starts its push toward the final rounds.

All the race action gets underway this Saturday, July 18, with first motos starting at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. To view the TV schedule, click here.

About KTM

“READY TO RACE” for KTM, these three words are far more than a simple slogan. They stand for the entire company philosophy of developing vehicles that can without any modifications comprehensively assert themselves in any race. Direct from the dealer onto the track and into the battle for victory. Designers, engineers and riders are bound by a clear common denominator: an unconditional passion for motorcycles. The whole KTM family is a living example of this worldwide. Countless offroad World and European championship titles plus brilliant victories in the world’s toughest races (International Six Days Enduro, Dakar Rally, Erzbergrodeo, and many more) all speak for themselves. And KTM Supermotos, Naked Bikes, Superbikes and the X-Bow all demonstrate what an “orange” lead means on asphalt.
