IRVINE, CA – July 8, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The Fourth of July Fireworks at the DuQuoin Mile weren’t only up in the sky as Crosley Radio Kawasaki’s Bryan Smith made a last lap pass to claim a photo-finish victory by less than a hundredth of a second at the Magic Mile. This marks Smith’s third straight AMA Pro Flat Track win on a one-mile track this season.
“It took everything I had on that last lap to outrun two of my best buddies,” said Smith. “I knew I was going to have to ride harder than I had all season if I wanted to catch him. It was fun and nerve wracking at the same time.”
With the win Smith has moved into third in the GNC1 standings, just 10 markers back of the series leader and two points back of fellow Kawasaki rider Sammy Halbert. Halbert put together a strong main event, finishing fifth on his Briggs Auto Kawasaki.
Next up for the AMA Pro Flat Track series is the historic Indy Mile where Smith will look to continue his winning ways on the one-mile race tracks.
