ProTaper Dominates Hangtown, Gets Silver & Bronze At Lead Belt

IRVINE, CA – May 18, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – What a weekend! ProTaper riders topped the podium at the Pro Motocross season opener and mined silver and bronze medals at the Lead Belt National Enduro. “The term gets overused, but Eli Tomac truly dominated the Outdoor National opener,” says ProTaper Brand Manager Paul Perebijnos. “A great first moto by Jason Anderson and solid rides from the rest of the ProTaper team bodes really well for the rest of the season!” A pair of ProTaper teamsters also showed off their skills in the “Show Me State” as Round #5 of the National Enduro Series reached Park Hills, Missouri. “Grant Baylor showed why he was picked to go for the gold as part of the ISDE team this year by finishing a strong second place at Lead Belt National Enduro,” adds Perebjinos.

Eli Tomac Crushes The Competition, Martin Retains Red #1Plate

The 2015 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship kicked off on Saturday with the Hangtown MX Classic, held in Sacramento, CA. ProTaper’s Eli Tomac completely dominated the field with a 1-1 finish. His impressive victory in the 450 class was highlighted by winning the second moto by a minute and a half over second place. As the track deteriorated and the temperatures heated up, Tomac took off,  pulling away from just-crowned 450 SX champ Ryan Dungey!

ProTaper/Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson had an outstanding first moto dicing with Dungey for second place and despite a rocky second moto finish of 7th, he still put his FC450 on the podium in third place overall. Anderson’s ProTaper/Husky teammate Christophe Pourcel returned to the U.S. race scene with a solid 8th place at the season opener, while ProTaper’s Kyle Chisholm finished a lucky13th in the 450 class.

Motocross fans witnessed another dominating ProTaper performance in the 250 class at Hangtown as well. Despite a crash in the opening moto, defending champ Jeremy Martin went 2-1 to take the overall and retain the bright red #1 plate as the series points leader. ProTaper’s Anthony Rodriguez, Aaron Plessinger, Matt Bisceglia and Cooper Webb finished 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th, respectively. ProTaper riders RJ Hampshire, Zach Osborne and Justin Bogle also earned spots in the top 10, giving ProTaper fans plenty to cheer about.

Speaking of fan appreciation… The night before the Nationals Eli Tomac, Justin Bogle, Matt Bisceglia and RJ Hampshire were representing ProTaper at the local dealership, Roseville Honda. Fans lined up to meet their favorite riders and a chance to win a Honda Grom… maybe Eli’s dominant win was the result of some good karma?
