ANAHEIM, CA – March 26, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Kanati Tires recently signed the Yamaha Motor/Icon Vehicle Dynamics car piloted by Dustin Nelson for the 2015 Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series. The Yamaha blue #94 vehicle will be running a combination of the LT255x75R16 Mud Hogs up front and the 31×10.5R15LT Kanati Mud Hogs on the rear of the car in Lucas Oil Pro Lite races this year. “We’ve got a brand new team with a really great looking truck,” Nelson said, “and we are excited to see how well the Kanati Tires perform for us this season.”
Kanati Tires is providing tires for Dustin Nelson’s 2015 Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series Pro Lites efforts.
While GBC Motorsports has long been a prominent figure in the ATV and UTV racing community, the light truck division Kanati Tires is making its first serious push into the off-road racing world with this partnership. “We are extremely excited to work with Dustin in his Lucas Oil efforts this year,” said Kory Ellis, Kanati Brand Coordinator. “We are proud to support the sport of off-road racing and the athletes that invest so much year after year.”
Nelson runs a combination of Kanati Mud Hog M/T tires up front and Trail Hog A/T tires in the rear.
Making his debut at Rounds 1 and 2 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series in Lake Elsinore, California he was able to grab 10th place qualifying position out of 26 on the first night. After getting a feel for the Mud Hogs he was able to clench a top 10 spot coming in at 8th place for the opening round of the season. The second round yielded slightly different results. After losing communication with his spotter, it became very difficult to maneuver the track to his and the trucks full potential. This problem caused slower lap times netting him a 17th place finish on the 2nd round of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series Pro Lite Class.
Nelson will compete for the Pro Lites championship in his Kanati Tires equipped Yamaha Motor/Icon Vehicle Dynamics truck.
