INDIANAPOLIS, IN – March 14, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely continued his streak of great finishes at Lucas Oil Stadium by collecting a runner-up finish for the second year in a row in the 450SX class. The podium was also Seely’s second of the season and helped him move from seventh to fourth in the championship standings.
After qualifying a very fast fourth place in the afternoon practice sessions, Seely produced the same speed in his heat race, finishing second and moving straight to the Main Event.
Seely made his good gate pick count in the Main Event and came around the first turn in second, right on the rear wheel of the leader. Learning from mistakes last weekend in Daytona, Seely remained patient and stayed close to the leader the entire race, finishing less than four seconds back and collecting his third career 450SX podium.
“It’s my rookie season and I can’t complain with a podium,” said Seely. “It’s been a great year of learning and gaining experience among some of the greatest riders. When I was behind Dungey, I tried to be patient and wait for a mistake but that’s a bit rare with him. I knew if I stayed close, I could learn a lot and I’m happy overall with how I rode. Everyone has been really great supporting me this season and I’m thankful for the group I have in my corner.”
Seely is now fourth in the championshipy standings, just nine points back from third with six races remaining.
Seely was wearing the 2015 GP Air Cheetah Gear, Air Glove Red and the 2015 SE3 Team White CF Helmet. Check out all of the 2015 gear sets and the 2015 Moto Helmets online and find your local TLD retailer.
