Savatgy Takes Podium and Tonus 8th in Dallas

CORONA, CA – February 16, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) –  The first round of Monster Energy Supercross 250 East kicked off in Dallas this weekend with Joey Savatgy taking a podium and Arnaud Tonus finishing 8th.

First Race, First Podium
Joey Savatgy was in stellar form in Dallas at his first race aboard his KX250F for Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki.  In qualifying, Savatgy turned the 7th fastest lap and finished 4th in Heat 2.  In the main event, he was up near the front of the pack right from the start.  At the staggered red flag restart, Savatgy was in the 4th position, but after a fierce battle he made a bold pass to take 3rd place with 6 laps to go.  Savatgy held his position to the checkered flag to take his first podium of 2015.

Fighting Back
Arnaud Tonus rode valiantly at AT&T Stadium for his first Monster Energy Supercross event since crossing the Atlantic and joining Pro Circuit.  Tonus was dialed as he laid down the 2nd quickest lap time in qualifying and backed it up with a 4th finish in Heat 1.  In the main, he was off to a strong start, when midway through the first lap, to avoid downed riders he road off the track and into a Kawasaki tough block.  Despite being near the back of the field at the red flag restart, Tonus picked off riders in front of him one-by-one and was able to secure an 8th place finish.
