Seely Shows Heart To Race Into Top 10

ARLINGTON, TX – February 15, 2015 – (Motor Sports Newswire) –  Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely had to ride with all his might and strength throughout the night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, qualifying to the Main Event from the LCQ and racing through the pack during the 20-lap Main Event. His heart-felt persistence paid off as he came from 19th to finish the night with a 10th-place finish.

Track Time
While it’s not the way riders want to get to the Main Event, the LCQ allows riders to see the constantly changing track conditions. After some tough luck in the Heat and Semi races, Seely made quick work of the four-lap LCQ and won his first LCQ of the season.

Pushing Forward
With the 18th-gate pick going into the Main Event, the start was going to be tough for Seely. He got a good jump, ended up coming around the first few turns in 19th. He moved quickly, although Seely washed out and remounted right away on the fourth lap. Settling in, he picked off riders over the next 15 laps and was able to make his way into the top 10.

In His Words
“The night was definitely tough,” said Seely. “I haven’t felt well since I arrived this week for press day. I had to go through the LCQ to the main thanks to a series of unfortunate events. I got off to a decent start considering where I was (with the 18th gate pick). There are some nights where you’re just glad it’s over, and this is one of those nights. We just keep learning every week. I’m looking forward to going back to Atlanta, where the dirt is always really good and the fans are always stoked. I haven’t been in several years racing on the West Coast so I’m hoping it’s a good race.”

Seely was wearing the 2015 SE Pro Corse Flow Yellow Gear, Air Glove White and the 2015 Team Yellow Limited Edition Helmet. Check out all of the 2015 gear sets and the 2015 Moto Helmets online and find your local TLD retailer.
