Performing at Second Annual Event in Orlando, on Saturday Night
IRVINE, CA – September 25, 2014 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Ace Café, in conjunction with the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo), have announced that “Stray Cats” bassist Lee Rocker will perform a free concert on Saturday, October 18, just outside of the AIMExpo show floor at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC).
As the doors close on the third day of AIMExpo 2014, Rocker will take the stage at 7 p.m. EST for what is sure to be a memorable performance. All AIMExpo attendees with either an admission ticket or a show badge are welcome to attend the intimate performance.

The ”Stray Cats” were a New York-based rockabilly band that consisted of Rocker on stand up bass, Brian Setzer on guitar and vocals, and “Slim” Jim Phantom on drums. The trio produced a slew of hits from its inception in 1979 and have performed on and off as a group across four decades. Monster hits “Rock This Town”, “Stray Cat Strut”, “(She’s) Sexy +17”, and the smash “Rumble in Brighton” – a nod to the infamous 1964 conflict between mods and rockers – sat at the top of the U.S. music charts in the early 1980s.
Since “Stray Cats” broke up in the mid 1980’s, Rocker has embarked on a successful solo career while also starting the band “Phantom, Rocker & Slick.” He is widely considered to be one of the most influential upright bass players in rock n’ roll history and has even been nominated for a Grammy.
“The Ace Café holds an iconic place in the history of jukebox and rock n’ roll,” said Lee Rocker. “With some of the greatest ever – Gene Vincent visiting on one of his tours, even The Beatles are reported to have visited before they became famous. I’m excited to continue that great Ace tradition this year at AIMExpo.”
Ace Café, the legendary British hub for vintage motorcycle and custom car events, announced plans to open its first U.S. location in Orlando in Spring 2015. The café was an exhibitor at the inaugural AIMExpo last October, showcasing an impressive collection of vintage motorcycles on the exhibitor floor. This year’s concert is the next step in the partnership between AIMExpo and Ace Café, and serves to further cement the café’s presence in Orlando’s increasingly-popular motorcycle scene.
“Ace Café has been a great partner for AIMExpo since our inaugural show last October and when they approached us about the opportunity to do something unique, we all felt like it was a great opportunity to bring something new and exciting to the show,” said Larry Little, Vice President and General Manager, Marketplace Events Motorcycle Group. “With their official opening in Orlando just around the corner, we are appreciative of the value they see in our show and the role it plays in their presence in the U.S.”
AIMExpo is now the largest show of its type in North America with exhibit space growth of more than 40 percent, and the number of exhibitors at more than 470. Pre-registration of dealer/trade attendees is triple last year, and advance ticket sales to consumers are more than double 2013. Interest continues to grow each day and companies looking to take advantage of the AIMExpo platform should contact an AIMExpo Account Manager toll free at 855-MCShows (855-627-4697).

About Ace Cafe London
The original Ace Cafe opened in 1938 as a “transport cafe” on the north edge of London. In the ‘50s and ‘60s, the Ace became a pillar of the cafe racer culture and the mods & rockers era, as British youth discovered rock ‘n’ roll music on the jukeboxes and raced their bikes from cafe to cafe. Time passed, as did the glory days of the British motorcycle industry, but the dream lived on, and in 1994, Mark Wilsmore staged an event to mark the Ace Cafe’s 1969 closure. About 12,000 people attended this first Ace Cafe Reunion, which was hence dubbed “The World’s Coolest Motorcycle Event” and has been held every year since. In 2014, the event attracted more than 200,000 visitors and 40,000 bikes from more than 40 countries. Mark’s vision brought the iconic cafe back from dereliction to the point where today it is the world’s most famous charismatic destination and pitstop for the global “petrolhead” community.
