JANESVILLE, WI – April 8, 2013 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Moose Racing’s Phil Nicoletti continued to show improvement at the Monster Energy Supercross at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. He won the last chance qualifier to make his fifth straight main during his rookie 450SX season. In the main event, he was running inside the top 10 before a small crash pushed him back, but didn’t give up and worked his way back up to 12th.
The GNCC retuned after a few weekends off for its third round of the season at Steele Creek Campgrounds in Morganton, N.C. Moose Racing’s XC2 ATV rider Patrick McGuire raced to the top of the podium for his first win of the season. In the XC1 class, Kevin Yoho had a good showing finishing sixth, while Braden Henthorn and Eric Hoyland finished just behind in seventh and eighth, respectively.
On Sunday, XC1 riders Nick Fahringer and Josh Strang lined up to tackle the course. Fahringer remained consistent throughout the race to finish with a season-best sixth. Strang got out to a good start and was running in third after the opening lap. A crash halfway through the race pushed him out of podium contention, but he kept pushing and eventually finished 12th. In the XC2 class, Shane Hufford, Jr. put together a good ride in sixth, while Travis Coy finished ninth.
