OAKLAND, CA – January 30, 2012 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – After narrowly missing the podium in Los Angeles, Ryan Villopoto grabbed a good start and stayed close to the front in Oakland, earning his third podium in four races at the fourth round of the Monster Energy Supercross. Teammate Jake Weimer put together a good ride in eighth, while Tickle and Metcalfe finished 13th and 14th, respectively.

In the Supercross Lites class, Thor’s Dean Wilson put in a valiant effort in Oakland to earn a 10th-place finish after going down on the second lap and got up in last. Teammate Tyla Rattray sat out of the main event after crashing in his heat race.

This weekend marked the opening round of the AMA Rekluse National Enduro Series in Wedgefield, S.C. and Thor riders made their mark on the field. Former National Enduro Champion Charlie Mullins grabbed a test win on his way to a podium finish in third, while Cory Buttrick finished just behind him in fourth. After sitting out for much of the off-season due to an injury he sustained in the fall, reigning champion Russell Bobbitt earned a respectable sixth and is looking to improve for Round 2.

The fifth round of the Monster Energy Supercross is this weekend at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., while the National Enduro Series will pick back up February 19th in Greensboro, Ga.
