Veterans Ride Across America for Kids of Fallen Heroes

Ride will cover four states, with riders joining from across the country

WHO: Jimmie L. Foster, National Commander of The American Legion and hundreds of war veterans on motorcycles, The American Legion Riders
WHAT: Leader of nation’s largest veterans organization will lead the sixth annual American Legacy Run from Indianapolis, Ind. to Minneapolis, Minn. arriving there for the 93rd National Convention of the Indianapolis-based American Legion. Military veterans who ride will join the convoy from states across America. More than 300 motorcycle riders are expected to make the entire five-day journey.
The American Legion Riders will leave Indianapolis on Sunday, August 21 and travel 1,225 miles, stopping only for promotional events and fund raising.
WHY: The goal is to raise over $450,000 for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund for children of military personnel who died on and after Sept. 11, 2001. Legion Riders from across the country are collecting funds to present to Commander Foster at each stop along the way. All Americans across the country can contribute to show our nation’s appreciation for those who paid the ultimate price for freedom.
Commander Foster, Legion Riders and Legionnaires will be available for interviews.
