Company Recognized by Garden State Equality and Diversity MBA Magazine
ROSELAND, NJ – May 19, 2011 – (Motor /PRNewswire/ — ADP®, a leading provider of human resource outsourcing, payroll services, tax and compliance services, benefits administration and integrated computing solutions for vehicle dealers, has been honored by two organizations – one a leading civil rights organization in New Jersey, the other a thought leader on diversity.
Garden State Equality, New Jersey’s 82,000-member advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equal rights, named ADP as one of its Equality Companies of the Year.
Garden State Equality engaged in an extensive process to arrive at its 2011 Equality Companies of the Year. Nominations came from its membership. Additionally, over five months, its staff researched more than 5,600 companies, including companies headquartered in New Jersey and national companies with a notable business presence in New Jersey.
A panel of 12 judges selected the honorees from 5,600 companies, using a matrix of 15 specific criteria that took into account each company’s culture, workplace diversity policies and commitment to equality. The criteria included, but were not exclusively focused on, matters of importance to the LGBT community.
ADP will be officially recognized by Garden State Equality during its annual Legends Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on July 25, 2011 in Jersey City, N.J. This is the second time ADP has been honored by the organization.
ADP was also honored for the second time by Diversity MBA Magazine, a national publication that provides research on industry diversity programs and performance, continuing education, and professional development for women and people of color working in corporate America. Each year, the magazine names its 50 Out Front Companies for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work.
ADP was ranked 15th overall by the magazine and additionally named as one of the top 10 companies in the category of accountability.
According to the publication, accountability is the most comprehensive of its award categories. It includes assessments of a company’s chief executive officer and board commitment, diversity measurements, reward systems for diversity performance, diversity reporting structure, and how external influences impact leadership development.
Diversity MBA Magazine will celebrate its Fifth Annual Diversity Leadership Forum and Awards Gala by honoring ADP and other companies in Chicago, September 13-14, 2011.
“Diversity and inclusion help us hire, retain and develop talent,” said Tara Amaral, ADP’s Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of Talent Acquisition. “By treating each of our associates as unique and allowing them to grow to their full potential, ADP brings added resources to each challenge it undertakes on behalf of its clients.”
In addition to these new honors, over the past year ADP has been named by Working Mother magazine as one of its 2010 “100 Best Companies”. ADP also received a 100 percent survey rating from the Human Rights Campaign® Foundation’s 2011 Corporate Equality Index, distinguishing the company as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT employees. Additionally, in March, ADP was ranked 38th on the 2011 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list.
