HUNTSVILLE, AL – March 28, 2011 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Yesterday was a very special day for a young rider named Jacob Ehm and the team at LocoX.com. After placing his entry among thousands of others for a motocross gear giveaway on LocoX.com, Jacob was the sole winner of the One Industries race gear worn by Rockstar/Suzuki’s Ryan Morais at the 2011 Anaheim II Supercross.
Known as the “Pink Race,” the second Anaheim race of the year is a unique event where the entire industry joins in to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation that is committed to breast cancer research.
While Jacob walked away with Ryan Morais’ pink-themed motocross pants, jersey, and helmet, LocoX.com made a donation to the Komen for the Cure 3-Day walk event that has taken place in San Diego for the last few years and is organized by breast cancer survivor, Shasta Johnson.
“We run motocross gear and product giveaways all year long, however this one was extra special. We committed to making a donation to Shasta Johnson and her 3-Day Breast Cancer walk team for every person who signed up. We thought we would be making a donation of around $500. Well, we had more sign ups for this contest than most others, and the LocoX.com owner, Dave Scilabro, decided to up the donation to $1,000. Thanks to One Industries for helping to bring together the promotion and Rockstar, Suzuki, and the moto media for getting the word out,” said Mike Lyons, Director of Marketing at LocoX.
