WEST YELLOWSTONE, MT – February 20, 2010 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The West Yellowstone World Snowmobile EXPO is scheduled for March 12-14. This year’s EXPO combines the excitement of snowmobile racing and snow drags along with freestyle aerials, ATV racing on snow, a Vintage snowmobile display and the Toughman Enduro.
The Mountain West Racing snocross 2009 finale will feature qualifying runs on Friday and Saturday, with finals on Sunday morning. Don’t miss ‘dialed in’ snowmobile drag races competing in the 7th annual Snow Drags sanctioned by WSSRA. The radar run takes place on Friday, March 12; drags on Saturday and Sunday. Everyone’s favorite is always the Kitty Cat and 120 events where the next generation of snowmobile racers competes.
High-flying aerials will make you gasp at Saturday afternoon’s Octane Addictions Exhibition. MWR ATV racing on the snocross course features qualifying runs on Friday with finals on Saturday. The Toughman Enduro race on Friday afternoon pits teams of five people competing head to head. Three snowmobile drivers (supported by a pit crew of two) take turns riding a stock 600 cc sled, putting in as many laps as possible.
Arctic Cat, Polaris, Skidoo and Yamaha will unveil their 2011 snowmobile lines, along with hundreds of new aftermarket exhibits at the Holiday Inn Conference Hotel.
New for this year is an outdoor Swap Meet to be held on Saturday, March 13, from 9 to 5. The meet will take place on Madison Avenue and feature all types of recreational vehicles, equipment, and parts. Shuttles will carry EXPO visitors from the race course to the swap meet and exhibition hall.
Through March 15, you can travel into the heart of Yellowstone Park. Each day, commercially guided snowmobile and snowcoach tours depart from West Yellowstone traveling over snow covered, groomed roads to popular destinations including Old Faithful and The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
The popular “Casino Night” returns on Friday where anyone can become a millionaire (funny money, of course). Celebrate 20 years of EXPO with a “Back to the 80’s” anniversary bash on Saturday night followed by a “Calcutta” auction where you an “buy” your favorite racer and win some cash if they win the following day.
