AAIA debuts online training directory

BETHESDA, MD – January 26, 2010 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – With today’s unveiling of its new online directory for aftermarket training and education, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) urges all aftermarket companies and associations to submit their resources for inclusion. The Directory of Resources for Industry Valued Education (DRIVE), located at www.aftermarket.org/DRIVE, is a one-stop resource enabling the industry to easily locate available training and education information, materials and programs. The initial release of the directory, which is a work-in-progress, includes more than 75 participating organizations and more than 300 pages of listings.

DRIVE’s resources were submitted by manufacturers, distributors, private training organizations, associations, technical schools and other organizations providing training and education to the aftermarket. DRIVE uses the Google search format, where users can enter keywords (like an auto or truck part or system, topic, training or education provider), and their preferred training format type (online training, installation or technical bulletin), into the designated Google search box on the AAIA education and training Web page and generate a list of resources. List refinement options are also available.

“Aftermarket companies have invested in developing training and education resources for customers and their employees,” said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO. “Sometimes it is difficult for people to find the information they need to finish a task, make a decision or increase their knowledge to improve their career. DRIVE is designed to make it easier to find the information and tools needed. And, since the directory is in Google format, DRIVE’s content will be updated when the participating organizations update their company Web sites.”

All aftermarket companies are eligible to have their materials and programs listed in the directory. To participate, companies must have a URL to the page or pages of the company Web site that go directly to the training and education information. Only training and education resources will be listed. No sales information or material will be included.

To utilize the new directory, visit www.aftermarket.org/DRIVE. Included at the Web site is a link to a form for submitting training and education resources. For more information, e-mail Sue Kalish at sue.kalish@aftermarket.org or call 240-333-1047.
